Ecuador: The Food Of The Pacific Coast Region
In April, thirteen students and I flew into Guayaquil to begin an 8-day adventure. The goal of this trip was to capture the landscape, the personalities of the people, the food, and the culture. Showcasing the lifestyle, food, and habitat of the locals was a key element while on our journey.
The food of Ecuador offers fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables from the region. Plantains were a staple, as were fish, rice, and ceviche. Although some of the refrigeration and handling were questionable to me, I enjoyed the fresh daily seafood with a price point much less than in the States.
These are some of my favorite photos of the food in the Pacific coast region of Ecuador, shot while teaching and exploring with the travel abroad class.
